PhotoPresenter Presents Via NDI®

Germering, June 13, 2018 – PhotoPresenter for iOS, the app for show and tell style, non-linear photo presentations, is now updated with NDI® playout to enable easy integration into live video production workflows based on mimoLive for the Mac or other NDI® capable video production systems such as the NewTek TriCaster.

“NDI® really enables great workflows. In this case, we had a specific customer in mind. At their marine aquarium, they are helping visitors to learn about marine life by telling them about specific animals that swim into view in the fish tank. The fish do not follow a script, so the presenter has to pick the proper picture from their photo library on the spot to be shown at the presentation screen. With PhotoPresenter, they can then highlight parts of the photo to explain about anatomy, for example and with NDI®, in addition to presenting on their big screen, they can also send the video output to the live video stream, reaching out to a big audience beyond the on-site visitors,” says Oliver Breidenbach, CEO of Boinx Software. “This latest release reinforces our commitment to producing great tools for live video production and our support for NDI®.”

Tell, But Don’t Show, All

PhotoPresenter is designed for ad-hoc photo presentations, where the audience is not supposed to see all of the photo library, just the ones you want them to see. You can easily browse your photo library and select the photo or video you want to appear on a secondary screen attached via HDMI adaptor or AirPlay. PhotoPresenter contains a set of tools for highlighting parts of the photo, like a spotlight effect or a laser pointer and allows the user to customise the look of the screen if no particular photo is selected.

NDI® Playout Requires No Cables

With the latest release, PhotoPresenter is also able to stream the video signal out via NDI® over the network to a live video production system with NDI® ingest capabilities such as Boinx Software’s mimoLive. This makes it super easy to integrate an interactive photo presentation tool into your live video production workflow without running any cables. This leaves the presenter untethered to roam about.

Pricing and Availability

PhotoPresenter is now available on the iOS App Store as a free download with in-app purchases. Its basic functionality can be used free of charge, changing the default screen logo is available as a US$ 19.99 in-app purchase. The watermark on the NDI® signal can be removed by purchasing a US$9.99 monthly subscription or a US$99.99 yearly subscription.

mimoLive 4.1: PTZ via NDI®, HTML based broadcast graphics

Germering, June 5th, 2018 – Version 4.1 of the Apple Design Award winning live video production application mimoLive - The Multi-In, Multi-Out Live Video Engine for the Mac is now available. The new version allows users to control PTZ Cameras via NewTek's NDI® protocol and adds a Web Browser source that enables utilizing HTML5/CSS/JavaScript based broadcast graphics. InfoComm attendees can get their hands on mimoLive 4.1 at the PTZOptics booth (N664).

"The trend for software technologies in broadcasting continues. After NDI®, we're enabling users to utilize HTML5/CSS/JavaScript based broadcast graphics like the singular.live platform or the various overlay services for gamers," says Oliver Breidenbach, CEO of Boinx Software. "This reinforces our commitment to creating the most versatile live stream production application."

PTZ via NDI®

In addition to the NewTek NDI|HX camera, a growing number of PTZ camera suppliers, including PTZOptics and Panasonic, now offer NDI® enabled cameras. The pan, tilt and zoom of those cameras can now be controlled directly from the mimoLive Multiviews via NDI®. Users can also set and recall preset positions, which allows them to create multiple virtual camera angles and switch easily between them. Combined with another cool mimoLive feature you can set up a camera that can be controlled by your viewers via Twitter or Facebook which is a great way to engage your audience.

HTML5 Broadcast Graphics

The new Web Browser source supports transparent HTML5/CSS/JavaScript pages that can display overlay broadcast graphics. New platforms such as singular.live provide easy to use components ranging from simple lower thirds to complex sports scoring. With mimoLive you can not only use them in your live streams, but also play them out via SDI or NDI® to your existing broadcast production workflows.

Other Web Content

The Web Browser source can also be used to include other Web content in your video. For example you can capture a discussion in your chat room, discuss cryptostock charts or feature photos from various platforms in your production.

mimoLive 4: Multi-Endpoint Streaming, Social Media And More

Germering, March 22nd, 2018 – Version 4 of the Apple Design Award winning live video production application mimoLive - The Multi-In, Multi-Out Live Video Engine for the Mac is now available. The new version improves live video producer’s lives by adding easy multi-endpoint streaming, a process to work with viewer comments on YouTube and Facebook, a multi-view to keep an eye on your video sources and much more. mimoLive 4 will be shown at the NDI® Pavilion (booth SL5516) at NAB in Las Vegas.

“mimoLive 4 is the 21st release of mimoLive since we rebranded from BoinxTV in 2016, not counting beta releases,” says Oliver Breidenbach, CEO of Boinx Software. “This fast pace of development is what we hoped to achieve with switching to a new business model for mimoLive. This new release is a milestone, because we’ve redesigned the whole output part to make mimoLive even more useful.”

Multi-Out To The Max

mimoLive 4 now makes it very easy to ingest to multiple streaming servers at the same time. For example, you can simultaneously stream to YouTube or Facebook and your own streaming servers. YouTube, Facebook and Twitch are supported via API and are very comfortable to use. Other services and servers can be used with standard RTMP.

Aux Audio

mimoLive is used in ever more challenging scenarios that require more than just the operator to be getting an audio feed. For example a moderator in the studio would need to get a different audio feed than the operator in the editor booth, especially if talking to remote guests via the mimoCall service. mimoLive 4 can now define multiple aux audio mixes.

YouTube and Facebook Comments

Encouraging audience interaction is getting ever more important. Posts with lots of comments and reactions are ranked higher by the algorithms. The best way to achieve that is to react to comments during the live show and mimoLive makes this easier than ever with a new workflow for just that purpose.

Keep An Eye On Your Sources

When live editing, it is important to see all available video sources in order to be able to make a good decision on what camera angle to show on the spot. mimoLive adds two independent, freely configurable multi-views, one inside the main window if you only have one display and another one in an external window that you can display on a second screen. Both can be used to trigger the Switcher layer so that the editor only has to point and click on the source they want to show. The multi-views can be configured in a number of layouts with up to 10 source views.

UI Customisation And More

With the new layout for the main window, the available screen real estate can now be used much more effectively and be tailored to the operator’s needs by resizing the columns and the layer preview. A new Levels filter allows users to quickly adjust the white balance of the attached video sources to make them look better and more “alike” without having to go through the camera menus. An Auto-Switching layer periodically or randomly switches up to 9 sources. And last but not least, a large number of reported issues have been fixed.

NAB 2018 Las Vegas

Boinx Software will demo mimoLive 4 and how it’s integrating perfectly with the NDI® world at the NDI® Pavilion (Booth SL5516) at NAB 2018 in Las Vegas from April 9th to April 12th. (NDI® is a registered trademark of NewTek, Inc.)

PartySnapper: The Social Photo Wall App That Will Wow Your Party Guests

Puchheim, Germany – March 18, 2015 – PartySnapper, the newest app from Boinx Software, is now available to the public, just in time for all those prepping for wedding season or anyone who’s simply ready to celebrate the end of winter. A social photo wall on steroids, PartySnapper is an iOS app that will truly wow party-goers around the world. The new app from Boinx allows party hosts to collect all photos taken at a party in one central location, while keeping party-goers engaged and connected to all the action, as their personally snapped photos instantly stream onto a venue’s surrounding screens. And for a limited time only, PartySnapper Party Hard Unlimited is now 50% off! (See below for in-app pricing). Get PartySnapper today!

Watch Dr. Term T. Bowman explain how PartySnapper works here!

Originally invented for a wedding, the initial idea for PartySnapper was conceived of by Boinx Software video guru Bastian Wölfle, who developed a very early version of the app when he tied the knot in 2012. “Being the geek that I am, I knew I wanted to do something a bit nerdy for our big day. At so many weddings, they give out old disposable cameras for guests to snap pictures with, but these days, just about everyone has an iPhone they’re taking photos with anyway. I thought, why not find a way to connect everyone in so the pictures they snap are not only automatically saved in one central place, but automatically stream to the venue’s screens instantly? It created a really fun and engaging element I knew others would want to have at their weddings and events, too.

Luckily a couple of the Boinx guys were at my wedding so they could see and how much people loved the slideshow. I like to tell myself that this convinced them PartySnapper is a great app that entertains guests and works easily.

Kelly Guimont of the Mac Observer said of the app, “I love this idea because aside from the cool factor of showing off pictures at an event as they happen, having them all on my device at the end is unbelievably convenient.

Bring a special touch to every event you host this year. Whether it’s a slew of events leading up to the “Big Day” or even just a backyard barbeque, PartySnapper is here to make sharing photos fun and easy for everyone.

About PartySnapper

Every guest at a party or social gathering takes tons of pictures with their iPhones. PartySnapper transmits these instantly to the event host’s iPad or iPhone wirelessly, where all the photos are collected then displayed as a beautiful slideshow that plays on a TV or projector via AirPlay or cable. PartySnapper has both a photo-taking mode for attendees and a mode for hosting parties. At the end of the party, there’s no need to ask the guests to send in their photos – they’ve already been aggregated on the host’s device. The app is super easy to use; hosts and party-goers alike will both be able to use it, even at the end of a long night of partying.

Taking Pictures is Free! Taking pictures will always be free for your party guests. Tell everyone to download the free PartySnapper app and start taking pictures the moment they walk through the door.

Free Party Light Mode: Party Light mode is limited to one party with a 10-picture slideshow. You can use this for an afternoon get together while planning for the main event.

BoinxTV Plays Nice with Blackmagic Design ATEM Switchers

Puchheim, Germany – February 18, 2015BoinxTV is taking productions to the next level by fully integrating with production switchers from Blackmagic Design, including the ATEM Television Studio and ATEM Production Studio 4K. A plug-and-play broadcast production package, the Mac-based BoinxTV lets users combine live camera video, clips, photos, 3D graphics, lower thirds and audio to create recordings and stream live presentations, podcasts, concerts, sporting events and more.

The new integration, which is made possible by the Blackmagic Design ATEM SDK, lets users control the ATEM switcher directly within BoinxTV, expanding the number of switchable video inputs users can control from their BoinxTV setup to eight. The integration also allows BoinxTV to offload to the ATEM the computing power required to switch between multiple sources. As a result, the overall production performance is greatly improved, enabling higher resolutions and better graphics for existing BoinxTV users looking to push productions beyond their current capabilities. Conversely, ATEM users are now able to expand the graphics and titling power of their production setup by adding BoinxTV to their workflows.

Many customers have asked us if there is a graphics solution to interface directly with Blackmagic Design’s switchers – so we built one,” comments Bastian Wölfle, Boinx Software’s video expert. “Using the ATEM SDK, we were able to replicate almost the exact same control surface functionality as seen in Blackmagic Design’s ATEM Software Control into BoinxTV, eliminating the need for a separate ATEM controller console. This also offloads a great deal of heavy-lifting onto the Blackmagic Design switcher, giving BoinxTV users vastly improved computing power, which means a faster workflow and more powerful graphics.

To sync an ATEM switcher with BoinxTV, broadcasters simply set up the switcher with their various camera inputs, then feed the program and multiview (optional but recommended) outputs through an HDMI or SDI capture device, such as a Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Mini Recorder (recommended by Boinx), into the computer running BoinxTV. Just a few additional simple steps and users will be off and broadcasting. Watch the full tutorial here.

The new ATEM controls that can be integrated into BoinxTV, using an add-on layer, will appear familiar to anyone who has already used Blackmagic Design’s ATEM Software Control. After setting any custom presets, such as transitions, in the Blackmagic Design software, users can exit out and manage all controls directly from the BoinxTV interface. They can easily set keyboard controls, determining cuts and transitions with simple keystrokes.

Technical Requirements BoinxTV with integrated BoinxTV ATEM Controller requires a Mac running OS X 10.8 or newer, plus one HDMI or SDI capture device for the ATEM program and one capture device for the ATEM multiview output. Recommended: 2x Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Mini Recorder + Thunderbolt Cables. Learn more here.

BoinxTV is compatible with all Blackmagic Design ATEM switchers – ATEM Television Studio, ATEM Production Studio 4K (1 M/E and 2 M/E models) – and supports the first eight inputs. Customers requiring more than eight camera inputs can request extended BoinxTV support by contacting Boinx Software directly at sales@boinx.com.

Furthermore the BoinxTV ATEM Controller requires BoinxTV 1.9.10 or newer.

Pricing and Availability The BoinxTV ATEM Controller can be downloaded from the Boinx FastSpring store for 99.99 USD (http://boinx.com/boinxtv/buy/).

Press Review Kits Members of the media are invited to review the BoinxTV ATEM Controller. Please note that interested reviewers must have access to an ATEM Switcher device. For more information, please contact Anya Oskolkova at anya@zazilmediagroup.com.

Party to Win an iPad Air 2 - With PartySnapper Beta!

Puchheim, Germany – October 29, 2014 – Give PartySnapper Beta a spin at your next party for a chance to win the brand new iPad Air 2. PartySnapper Beta is now available for anyone with an iPhone or iPad running iOS 8 to test out. To celebrate, Boinx Software will be running a fun and friendly competition to see who can throw the best party. An iPad Air 2 will be raffled off among all qualifying party animals.

We were overwhelmed by the positive feedback we received when we announced PartySnapper a few months ago through our Indiegogo campaign,” comments Oliver Breidenbach, CEO of Boinx Software. “We are so passionate about this app and know people are going to love bringing that extra bit of personalization to their parties. There are just a few kinks to work out, so with the help of Apple TestFlight and 1,000 partiers, PartySnapper will be taking over parties everywhere!

Join the Party!

To join the PartySnapper beta contest, host a Beta Test Party with at least two of your friends. When the confetti settles, the host must send Boinx a group selfie with all party guests and fill out a questionnaire to officially enter the contest. The host of the party with the most participants and the host of the party with the coolest picture will each receive an exclusive PartySnapper beer stein. All qualifying party hosts will have a chance at the iPad Air 2. Questionnaires and selfies must be submitted before Nov. 30th 2014 11:59PM PT to be considered.

About PartySnapper

PartySnapper has both a photo-taking mode for attendees and a mode for hosting parties. Every guest at a party takes tons of pictures with their iPhones. PartySnapper transmits these instantly to the host’s iPad or iPhone wirelessly, where all the photos are collected then displayed as a beautiful slideshow that plays on a TV or projector via AirPlay or cable. At the end of the party, there’s no need to ask the guests to send in their photos – they’ve already been aggregated on the host’s device. The app is super easy to use; hosts and party-goers alike should both be able to use it, even at the end of a long night of partying.

Taking Pictures is Free! Taking pictures will always be free for your party guests. Tell everyone to download the free PartySnapper app and start taking pictures the moment they walk through the door.

Free Party Light Mode: The Party Light mode is limited to one party with a 10 pictures slideshow. You can use this for an afternoon get together while planning the big party.

In-App Purchases: Purchase a ticket for a single party with unlimited photos, valid for 7 days after purchase, or treat yourself to PartySnapper unlimited for all your parties all year round.
