Layer Setup Parameters
1. Triggers
- Toggle: Assign a record shortcut to activate or deactivate the Breaking News layer during your live stream. This is useful for toggling the display of breaking news updates without leaving the live interface.
- Event: You can optionally assign an event trigger to automate the display of the Breaking News layer when certain conditions are met.
2. Content
The content section allows you to customize the information displayed in the Breaking News layer:
- Title:
- Enter the main headline or breaking news title. For example, in the screenshot, the title is set to BREAKING NEWS.
- News 1-5:
- You can enter up to five different lines of text, which could be sub-headlines or detailed news snippets.
- In the example:
- News 1: mimoLive 5.8 out!
- News 2: Your news is here
- News 3: …and here
- Additional lines can be left blank if not needed.
- Text Duration:
- Set the duration (in seconds) for how long each piece of news is displayed. In this case, it’s set to 3 seconds. Adjust the duration to suit the pace of your broadcast and the importance of each message.
Appearance Settings:
- Title Font:
- Customize the font style, color and size for the title. The example uses HelveticaNeue-Bold with a font size of 60 px, making the headline bold and prominent.
- Text Font:
- Customize the font for the sub-headlines or news content. The example uses HelveticaNeue with a font size of 50 px, ensuring the news text is large and readable.
- Gradient Width:
- Adjust the width of the gradient background behind the text. In the screenshot, the gradient is set to cover the entire width of the screen (1920 px), providing a visually appealing background for the text.
- Gradient Color:
- Choose the color for the gradient background. In the example, the gradient is set to a light purple, which contrasts nicely with the text and the background image.
- Drop Shadow:
- Add a shadow effect to the text for increased readability, especially when the background image is complex or busy. This can be toggled on or off depending on the visual needs of the stream.
Geometry Settings:
- Anchor Point:
- Set the position of the news overlay. In the example, the news bar is anchored to the Top of the screen, placing the text at the top portion of the broadcast.
- X & Y Inset:
- Fine-tune the position of the news text by adjusting the X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) insets.
Text Alignment:
- Align the text within the layer. In this example, the text is aligned left for a clean, professional look.
Text Height:
- Adjust the text height to fit within the gradient bar. In the example, the height is set to 118 px, ensuring the text is perfectly framed within the gradient background.
