While mimoLive isn’t currently supporting AirPlay directly, you can still play out to a Smart TV with AirPlay or an Apple TV. Starting with MacOS Monterey, the Display Settings give you the option to add an AirPlay compatible display device as an external monitor. You can then use mimoLive’s Full Screen Playout to play to the SmartT V or Apple TV with astonishingly low latency, even via Wifi.

AirPlay mimoLive Playout

Connect the AirPlay Display as an additional monitor

  • Go to System Preferences -> Displays
  • Add the AirPlay Display (Apple TV or SmartTV) as an additional monitor.

Configure AirPlay device as external monitor

  • You can now check and set the resolution by clicking on the newly added display:

set external monitor resolution

Add Full Screen Playout Destination

In mimoLive, now add a Full Screen Playout destination:

Create Full Screen Playout and select new external monitor

  • Select the new external monitor and switch it live.
